At Mangara Agribusiness, nothing makes us prouder than seeing our clients turn ambition into results. Today, we’re shining the spotlight on one of our valued partners, Smart Farm, whose impressive work this season is helping drive agricultural productivity and food security.
We’ve been working closely with the Smart Farm team, providing high-quality fertilizers and crop protection solutions to support their ambitious projects. Here’s a closer look at what they’re cultivating and how strategic crop nutrition is helping them lay the foundation for success.
Quality seed is at the heart of productive and sustainable agriculture, and Smart Farm is taking bold steps to increase seed availability this season.
Their seed multiplication program covers a total of 25 hectares, including:
- 5 hectares of fully irrigated nucleus plots
- 20 hectares managed through a dedicated network of out-growers

To maintain healthy crops and maximize production potential, Smart Farm follows a structured crop management program:
- A Clean Start: Glyphosate is used for effective land clearing and weed management before planting, helping create a cleaner environment for emerging rice and maize seedlings.
- Building the Foundation: NPK fertilizer is applied at planting as a basal fertilizer to support strong root establishment and early crop development.
- Supporting Active Growth: Urea is applied as a top dressing during the vegetative stage to provide the nitrogen needed for vigorous growth and improved yield potential.
This systematic approach combines effective weed management with timely and targeted crop nutrition to support strong performance across the 25-hectare production area.
Smart Farm is also investing in the future of tree crop production, with an impressive 25,000 oil palm seedlings currently growing in their nursery.
Young oil palms require balanced nutrition to establish healthy roots, strong stems, and vigorous vegetative growth. To support this development and help prevent nutrient deficiencies, Smart Farm uses our NPK fertilizer as part of its nursery nutrition program, with particular attention to meeting the seedlings’ potassium requirements.
With the right nutrition at this critical stage, these seedlings can develop the strength and root systems needed for successful establishment when eventually transferred to their permanent fields.
We’re proud to support Smart Farm as they scale their seed multiplication program and invest in the next generation of tree crops.
Their progress demonstrates what is possible when ambitious farmers combine sound agronomic practices, precise crop nutrition, effective crop protection, and quality agricultural inputs.
We look forward to following Smart Farm’s journey throughout the season and sharing more updates from the field.
